Hi! Welcome to the Altersocials!

Hi, I'm Skaetlett. I'm pretty sick of social media and what the internet's become. If you're here, I'm guessing you are, too. :)

When I started exploring the net as a wee 10 year old, creativity was one of the founding principles. So was freedom. And privacy.

Now, the large internet is everything but the above. Social medias are bland and boring and offer no customization. Sites where we spent most of our time are shut down, and this is particularly bad for kids, where Club Penguin was replaced with TikTok and Neopets was replaced with Twtter.

Social media is proven to melt people's brains, but what else is there on the internet? Us, that's who.

And if that's not bad enough, the internet is controlled by credit card companies and massive corporations. Censorship is high and wide-spread in the name of free speech. Sex workers and adult content creators are chased off for "child safety", while social media continues to destroy kids' self esteem and critical thinking.

This is bad. But we have power. You have power.

The internet is ours. Let's take it back.
